This book is for those important people in our lives that we take for granted, and everyone that ever thought about joining the ranks and becoming one–the law enforcement officers! Take a trip through the experiences of going to murders those happened just moments earlier. Find out the tenseness of car chases over 100mph along with the moments of making a drug deal. This book will take you through many episodes of what the “inside life” is of a law enforcement officer from the streets to the divorce courts, to dignitary protection. He writes of the strain of the equipment the officers wear to coming to work with long hair and a beard. See what people have said about the book. |

Excerpts All of a sudden I saw four headlights in front of me with no where to go. I tried to aim for the woods but it was to late. We hit head on with a Buick doing 35mph......... Someone comes to the door of the raided apartment and asks, “Is this where the party is?” “Sir, I'm sorry that you can't read that big sign. You don't appear to be handicapped nor does your car resemble a fire truck”........ Most of the women were HIV positive. If anything you were trying to keep someone's husband or boyfriend from making a fatal mistake.... She picked up a gardening hoe to hit her husband. I tried to block it but ended up getting struck in the wrist......... We went to get the children by the court order. The house had seven cats and six dogs. The floor was literally covered with feces........ He jerked away from me slamming the handcuff down on my left hand. The knife was still in his other hand........ He’s laying face down with several holes in the back of his head. Steam was coming out of his head it was so cold......... I could feel the hammer on my .45 coming back as I aimed....... It was a bad night. We had a wreck where four people were seriously hurt and one killed. Our attitudes about chases would change......... My closest friend had been charged with murder...........
Your book belongs right up there with the best! I have a hard time putting it down. ....TG, Jersey City, New Jersey His book reflects the inside life, behind-the- scenes look from an inexperienced “new kid on the block” into a seasoned, hardened 18 year veteran. The book is perfectly suited for anyone interested in first hand law enforcement accounts particularly in NC! Daily Advance-Elizabeth City, NC It’s a GREAT book! It gives me great respect for those on the force. Let me know when you will be writing another. I will be the first to buy it! JB, Utah He takes the readers through jail hostage situations, undercover drug buys, car chases, shootings, and a growing problem in the law enforcement community-divorce. Courier-Times, Roxboro, NC He had “lemons” thrown at him and made “lemonade” out of the incidents he was in!....... AH, Dalton, Ga. It gives a personal account of what it’s REALLY like to be an officer and the sacrifices that come with it! I enjoyed it immensely! RP, student NC Wesleyan College It’s so interesting, like you’re talking to me! WA, Shenandoah, Va. Much to the point; humorous at times; DC, Oxford, NC Very hard book to put down! RDS, Durham, NC Appalled at the situations underpaid officers encounter on a daily basis! BT, Rome, Ga. The author has done an excellent job of taking the reader by the hand through the daily life of a cop; This is a MUST read for anyone wanting to enter that field and those of us that take for granted the people in uniform who protect us daily! JJS, Elizabeth City, NC Your book really exhibited the internal complexity of working within the legal system and society’s failure to acknowledge our social problems. Opening up your personal life added strength to your focus of “standing alone.” WH, Chevy Chase, Md It gets to the REAL nitty gritty. It’s written in very easy to understand language. You can’t put it down! FR, radio announcer Hertford, NC On a scale of 5, I give it a 9! Hard to put down! JP, Durham, NC For a cop or deputy on patrol, the details are remarkably routine, even as they shock the everyday reader’s senses every few pages or so. What is routine for police would knock most of us down. It is an insider’s view of what street officers do and what that does to them...I found it honest and important TG, Durham Morning Herald, Durham, NC I dare you to put it down! DJ, Durham, NC It’s well written...I felt like a part of it. When’s the sequel due out? LW, Morrisville, Penn We really like your book! Your writing is great and of course the subject matter.....NW, Durham, NC A wonderful book with so much emotion put into it!.....ST, Tahlequah, Ok This book is a “must read” for anyone wanting to get into law enforcement....B& N, Brandon, Fla A best selling book about the inside and outside life of an 18 year veteran cop. It takes you to everything that TV shows don’t! B& N.......Frisco, Texas This is the REAL eye opener for those not involve in law enforcement as to what really goes on! .........RG, Fla. I loved it! It was an exciting journey through a world most people don’t know exists........PM, Sneads Ferry, NC I couldn’t quit until I finished it! I WILL read it again!.......MF, Burnsville, NC This book could only have been written by someone
whose “been there.”...DS, retired NC Sheriff.
