About the book

After leading the life of an average man within a civilized society, D.J. Sharp finds himself in a remote swamp area of North Carolina along the coast of the Outer Banks where his nearest neighbors are a pair of otters in a pond just outside the door of his cabin. He emerges, 17 months later, with a new and profound understanding of the world around him and how he fits in it.

About the Author
David Sharp was born in Norfolk, Virginia, but spent most of his youth in Richmond.  He visited the Outer Banks on family vacations and became a permanent resident at the age 31 in 1985.  He has owned a store which dealt deeply in exotic pets and, later, a drywall business. In 2009, he left his business to pursue an entirely different avenue as a volunteer in the Red Wolf Recovery Program along the Alligator River just outside of Manteo, North Carolina.
